The Butterfly Lovers

Zhu Yingtai disguises herself as a man to attend school and falls in love with her classmate Liang Shanbo. When Zhu's family arranges her marriage to another man, Liang dies of a broken heart. On Zhu's wedding day, she visits Liang's grave, which opens to swallow her. They emerge as butterflies, forever together. This "Chinese Romeo and Juliet" is a classic of Yue Opera.
